Great all-year round herb for flavouring stews and meat dishes. We supply whole freshly cut sticks with leaves on. Keep the stick in water for as long as the leaves remain green, and pick as required. When it starts losing condition, allow to dry and then store the leaves in an airtight jar. Excellent for flavouring meats, vegetable dishes and pickles. The sticks are useful for cutting shorter and making kebab sticks, which lend a lovely flavour to your kebab. If you keep your sticks long, it is also useful for toasting marshmallows over the coals. If the stick has dried out, soak in water for an hour or more before using to prevent your food going up in flame over the coals.
A member of the onion family best categorised as a herb in culinary terms. Delicate flat foliage is most often finely chopped and scattered over food as garnishing. Delicious and useful in the absence of clove garlic. Does not linger on the breath like the cloves may sometimes do.
Bunch. Enjoy the taste of green onions freshly pulled from the ground, with their green leaves intact which is a tasty addition to soups, stews, salads or beautiful as a garnish. Although they are small, spring onions are a great stand-in when other fresh onions cannot be found.
