A member of the onion family best categorised as a herb in culinary terms. Fine grassy foliage is most often finely chopped and scattered over food as garnishing. Delicious with eggs and salads wherever an added onion taste is required without using onion. Can also be utilised in the infusion of oils and vinegars. Quite strong tasting The pretty mauve flowers can also be broken up and scattered over a mixed salad. Both the flowers and the grassy stems are tasty and beautiful to use with potato salad.
